A family's loss becomes a search for answers
Late Mr. Saurabh Saxena, the younger brother of Dr. Piyush Saxena, had been living with chronic renal failure since 1991. When his kidneys failed in 1998, their father donated one of his own.
The transplanted kidney brought some relief. Then the immunosuppressant drugs began their slow work: cataracts by 2000, haemoglobin dropping to 6 gm/dl by 2001, osteoporosis, and unbearable pain. In September 2002, pneumonia set in. Multiple organ failure followed. Saurabh died on 10 October 2002.

In illness, a last resort. In a last resort, a research programme.
In early 2003, Dr Saxena was himself struggling — very low energy, poor absorption of food, constant fatigue, allergies to over forty items. On a friend's suggestion, he tried a Liver Cleanse he found on curezone.com, a natural health forum gaining attention in the United States. The results were miraculous. He repeated the cleanse every alternate week for four months. His health improved steadily.
Impressed, he began practising on family, neighbours, and close friends. The success was consistent. So he kept searching — for more natural remedies already in use worldwide — and began documenting everything. Articles on kidney, liver, acidity, and joint cleanses appeared monthly in Health aur Nutrition magazine for 62 consecutive issues. Workshops followed at the RBI, Customs, CBI, the Brahma Kumaris at Mount Abu, and the Art of Living Centre in Bengaluru.

The Temple of Healing was formally registered as a trust in 2010, carrying forward what Dr Saxena had practised since 2003: sharing at-home therapies with everyone, free of cost, regardless of their background or location. Today our volunteers receive hundreds of calls a day from people seeking guidance — and every one of those calls is answered.
Dr Piyush Saxena has always clearly declared:

- He does not accept any donation
- He does not promote any product
- He has not retained copyright for the contents of the book; therefore, they may be freely reproduced in any form without his permission

The Temple of Healing was formed to spread alternative and low-cost therapies like Cleansing Therapy to everyone, free of cost. Our success is not measured in numbers — it is measured in the number of people who try these therapies and lead healthier, happier lives.
